What does Imagination smell like?
Top Notes (opening) -
- Citron — gives a bright, zingy citrus kick.
- Calabrian Bergamot — adds aromatic, slightly bitter citrus freshness.
- Sicilian Orange — sweet, sun-ripened orange.
Middle Notes (Heart) -
- Tunisian Neroli — floral, green-citrusy, adding elegance.
- Nigerian Ginger — a spicy, warm, slightly sharp ginger note.
- Ceylon Cinnamon — warming, a touch sweet, exotic spice.
Base Notes (Dry Down) -
- Chinese Black Tea — one of the more distinctive notes; it gives this smoky, slightly grassy, refined feel.
- Ambroxan — often described as “amber-like”; gives depth, warmth, and a modern musky-amber feel.
- Guaiac Wood — smoky, woody, somewhat resinous.
- Olibanum (Frankincense) — resinous, slightly balsamic, adding a touch of sacred or incense-like character.

Elegant, understated luxury
I ordered a 1 ml sample before committing to a full bottle, and I’m so glad I did. From the very first spray I could tell this was something special.
It opens with beautiful fresh citrus but quickly settles into a smooth, silky fragrance that smells incredibly refined. It’s clean, subtle and luxurious without ever being overpowering.
I’ve tried several other niche fragrances recently, and although I’ve liked them, Imagination is still my favourite. I even had someone comment at work, “Ooh, you smell nice,” which is exactly the kind of compliment I hope for.
If you enjoy elegant, fresh fragrances rather than overly sweet or heavy perfumes, I would highly recommend trying a sample first. It’s expensive, but in my opinion it smells every bit as luxurious as its price suggests.
